被压五行山

Crushed under the Mountain

The Jade Emperor waited in the Heaven Palace for a whole day, and at this time he was very worried, so he went outside the southern sky door with Lao, Guanyin, and Queen Mother. They looked down and saw the four sky kings and the sky soldiers had formed a circle, Nezha and Tower King Li were standing in the sky, and in the middle of the circle the Saint and Erlangshen fought without signs of victory or defeat.

Guanyin said to Lao: “Let’s help Erlangshen a little. We can capture the Saint.” Lao asked: “What weapon can you use to help?” Guanyin said: “I will throw down my Yujing Vase to hit that monkey head. Even if it can’t kill him, at least it could trip him so that Erlangshen could capture him.”

Lao said: “Your vase is porcelain, so if it doesn’t hit the head of the Saint but instead hits his staff, wouldn’t it shatter? Don’t attack; look at me.” As he said, he took out a hoop, and said to Guanyin: “This treasure is called the Jingang Hoop, and it is immune to water and fire. I will throw it down to hit that monkey head.”

The Saint and Erlangshen were fighting when the hoop came down and hit the Saint’s head right on. The Saint tripped, and ran when he got up. Erlangshen’s hound rushed up, and on his calf he bit. The Saint was bitten, and tripped again. Erlangshen stepped up, caught the Saint, and tied him up with ropes.

The Saint was escorted to the Sky Palace. But whether it was axes chopping or knives hacking, the Saint was not harmed to the least. When the Fire God let fire, he was not burned. When the Lightning God threw thunder, he didn’t move. The gods couldn’t think of an idea, so they could only report to the Jade Emperor.

Jade Emperor heard this, and asked: “Then… what will we do?” Lao walked forward and said: “This monkey stole peaches and elixirs, so his body has become as hard as steel. But I could take him and put him into my Alchemy Furnace to burn him. When my elixirs are finished in the furnace, he will be dust.” The Jade Emperor nodded when he heard this. Then, he told for the Saint to be loosened and handed to Lao.

Lao bought the Saint to the Tusita Palace. Then, he untied the Saint and pushed him into the furnace, which he lighted up and burned. The Saint found out that inside the furnace there was a wind opening. Because inside the opening there was only wind but no fire, he hid inside so the fire couldn’t get to him. But the wind bought with it the smoke from the furnace, which very quickly smoked his eyes into red, turning it into “Fiery Golden Eyes”.

Very quickly fourty nine days passed, and it was time to open the furnace. Lao thought that the Saint was long ashes, so he went to open the furnace. The Saint was at the wind opening covering his eyes with his hands when he heard a noise. He opened his eyes, and when he saw light, he jumped out. He kicked over the furnace, from his ear retrieved his Gold Wrapped Staff, and fought his way out from Tusita Palace.

The Saint fought all the way to the outside of the Heaven Palace, where he was met by the guards. The Saint didn’t say anything, but only raised his staff and hit. The soldiers came towards the Saint from everywhere. The Saint then turned three headed and six armed, and also turned his staff into three. With six hands he waved three staffs, which spun like the wheels of a car, so that the soldiers could only shout, but couldn’t get close.

The Jade Emperor saw the situation getting tighter, so he quickly sent a person to the west to invite the Buddha Rulai. Rulai came to the outside of the Heaven Palace, and the shouting shook the ears. When he asked, he learned that it was the sky soldiers surrounding the Saint. Rulai told the sky soldiers to stop, to let the Saint out to see him.

The Saint stood in front of Rulai, and said angrily: “From where do you monk come that you dare to ask me?” Rulai replied: “I am Rulai of the west. What skills do you have that you dare to take over the Jade Emperor’s seat?” The Saint said: “My skills are numerous! I am immortal, and I have seventy two transformations. I can also do flipping clouds, and when I flip I go one hundred and eight thousand miles. I have so much abilities, and I still could not be the emperor?”

Rulai stuck out his right hand, and said: “Let’s see if this is okay. If you really have the ability to flip out of my right palm, then you win. Not using weapons, I will invite the emperor to live in my west, and the Sky Palace is yours. But, if you can’t flip out of my right palm, then you will be punished. The Saint heard, and he secretly laughed: “Rulai this fool! My flips could go out one hundred and eight thousand miles. His palm isn’t even a foot. I could just jump out!” As he thought to here, he said to Rulai: “Will you count on the words you just said?” Rulai said: “Of course I will do as I said!” When he heard this, the Saint took back his staff, and then jumped onto the palm of Rulai. He said: “Now I go!” In a path of cloudy light, he vanished in the blink of an eye.

The Saint kept going, and saw five flesh-colored pillars. He thought: “This may be the pillars that support the sky. Now I must be at the side of the sky! When I go back, the Heaven Palace is mine!” Then he thought: “Wait! I must leave a mark as evidence!” He plucked down some hair and blew on it, transforming it into a pen. On the pillar in the center he wrote the words: “The Command Sky Saint has come to visit.” After he finished, he took back his hair, and at the first pillar he peed. Then, on his flipping cloud, he went back to his original place.

The Saint stood on the palm of Rulai and said: “I have come back! Quickly tell the Jade Emperor to move out of the Heaven Palace for me!” Rulai scolded: “You pee monkey, how could you jump out of my palm?” The Saint said: “You don’t know that I already got the edge of the sky. I saw five tall pillars holding up the sky! I already left down words there; you dare go to look with me?” Rulai said: “We don’t have to go anywhere, just look down and see!”

The Saint rolled his Red Golden Eyes, lowered his head, and saw that on Rulai’s middle finger there were the words “The Command Sky Saint has come to visit.” From the concave at the bottom of the thumb came a smell of monkey pee. The Saint was very shocked: “Strange! How are the words that I wrote on the sky support pillars on your finger? I don’t believe this! Let me go and see again.” The Saint turned around and wanted to jump out. Rulai lightly flipped over his hand, pushing the Saint out of the west sky door and holding him under Wuzhi Mountain.

The Saint struggled at the bottom of the mountain, and his head and hands almost reached out from under the mountain. Rulai heard the report, and wrote a slip of paper, which he stuck at the top of the mountain. From then on, the mountain seemed as if it had grew roots. The Saint was held under the mountain, and even though his head and arms were out, he couldn’t entirely get out any way.

The gods happily went to host a Peace Sky Banquet.
